"Every game is big with the way the West is and how there isn't much separation at all in the standings,'' Durant said. "Every game is huge and you're basically fighting for position for the playoffs. The way things look, it will be a pretty good team that doesn't even make the playoffs.''.

Durant has enjoyed some of the perks of being in his prime as a quarterback. He's in his sixth season as the Riders' starting quarterback, a role he embraces despite the pressures that accompany the position. In 2013, he led the Riders to a 45 23 win over the Hamilton Tiger Cats in the 101st Grey Cup game at Mosaic Stadium.
The Riders are technically in third place in the West Division with a 5 2 record. Saskatchewan has a game in hand over the Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who are tied with 5 3 records. The Calgary Stampeders and the Edmonton Eskimos share first place with 6 1 records.

down and in certain instances you have to be a gunslinger and do what you have to do to lead a comeback or put the team on your back,'' Durant said. "As you mature, it's about making better decisions. Not only on the football field, but in life.''
Sunday's contest is the first of a three game stretch against West Division foes for the Riders. After the Lions, the Riders play host to the Blue Bombers on Aug. 31 and travel to Winnipeg for the rematch on Sept. 7.
"My body is still recovering fast after games,'' Durant said. "I still feel like I can run around a little bit. (Age) hasn't caught up to me yet. I know that hits add up over time, but as of now I feel pretty good.''

"It's not just about me,'' Durant said. "I know that quarterbacks get a lot Adidas All Star Mens of glory. We just haven't been playing that well out there as a team throughout my career. Hopefully what started last year can be a trendsetter and we can keep going from there.''
"Honestly, I feel great,'' Durant said after Wednesday's practice at Mosaic Stadium. "They say from 29 to 34 or 35 are really the glory years of a QB.''
Durant didn't appear to be suffering any ill effects Wednesday from a shoulder injury that he suffered in Saturday's 16 11 win over the visiting Montreal Alouettes. Durant was slammed to the turf by Montreal's John Bowman seconds after completing a 30 yard touchdown pass to Rob Bagg. Durant didn't miss any playing time after suffering tingling in his arm and fingers.

a quarterback. He waited for Bagg to get open before delivering the touchdown strike and then paid the price by absorbing the Bowman tackle. In his early days as a starter, Durant considered himself a gunslinger. He has changed over the years.
On Wednesday, Durant acknowledged that he still feels pretty good despite being another year older.
