Hilarious, yes, but certainly not out of their wheelhouse. After all, they've covered everything from Frank Ocean's Thinkin Bout You, I Wanna Be Like You from Disney's The Jungle Book, and not to mention Montell Jordan's This Is How We Do It (included as a bonus track on their album). "We actually did like a minute and a half of (Gwen Stefani's) Hollaback Girl the other day and it was really, really good fun," Francis says. "I thought it was going to be absolutely terrible until I got involved and I was like, 'This is great! I love it!' "
Viral sensation: Nearly two years ago this month, AlunaGeorge released a video for You Know Adidas Basketball Shoes Jump Higher You Like It, a simple black and white clip of Francis dancing that has garnered more than 2.3 million views on YouTube since its release. music publications such as Pitchfork. "We're just very lucky that the video got passed around and it really opened us up to a lot more people, not just necessarily people that read blogs but general music fans," Reid says. "It was amazing. We didn't see it coming, either, which was a very, very pleasant surprise."
Wembley Stadium this year, as part of British radio station Capital FM's Summertime Ball concert. "Aluna even came up from the bottom of the stage, like one of those rising stages where she appears from nowhere," Reid says. "That was ridiculous yet awesome at the same time."
"It's great because it feels like we're in an actual band," Reid says. "It's that thing with electronic music, especially when you have to play it back live, where it can be quite a regimented thing. So it's nice to have some room for improvisation and just have a laugh with it, really."

Like pals Jessie Ware and Disclosure, who released debut albums in the USA this year, AlunaGeorge unleashed Body Music to the States in late July. Called "smoky," "sexy" and "sleek," by The Boston Globe, Body Music is the work of vocalist Aluna Francis and producer George Reid. The lanky Londoners, both 25, scored a No. for Disclosure collaboration White Noise, as well as a top 20 hit of their own with the bouncy Attracting Flies.
This is how they do it: Francis looks to charismatic, honest singers such as Robyn and PJ Harvey for inspiration, while Reid is heavily influenced by frequent hip hop producers such as Timbaland and The Neptunes. The duo says they'd love to work with Neptunes member Pharrell Williams someday, but also might find a Lady Gaga collaboration "hilarious" ("She's always going to come up with a crazy musical idea from outer space or something," Francis says).

Capturing that "human element": Rather than switch on a backing track and have Francis sing along, the pair has adapted their music to a concert setting, with Reid on his usual keyboard and sampler while other musicians play a light bass and high pitched drum kit. "We try to keep it as near to the recordings as we can, but also try to give it that fresh, human element," Francis says.
Sure, these modest Brits would like to make self described "better songs" moving forward, but otherwise, they prefer to just take things as they happen. "We've gotten a surprise every week, ever since we locked up in George's bedroom to do some music," Francis says. "To still be doing music is a challenge enough, so that's all we're really aiming for."
Fans bring smiles and support: AlunaGeorge have nearly 50,000 Twitter followers, more than 85,000 Facebook likes and an astounding 1 million followers on music sharing site SoundCloud. Francis and Reid interact with fans via social media on a daily basis, responding to individual questions and comments and frequently thanking fans for their support. "Everything we've experienced so far has brought a smile to our faces, from people who are dancing like a complete crazy person right in the front and singing along, to tweeting us on the hour," Francis says. "All these things are just part of this positive journey that we're going on and it's supported by all those individuals, you know?"
The remix that started it all: Reid got his start as guitarist for the indie rock outfit Colour before he turned to producing, a newfound passion that led him to remix the song Sweetheart by Francis' then band My Toys Like Me in 2009. After unsuccessfully trying to write new material for her synthpop group, Francis and Reid decided to branch out together and write their own songs, pairing her almost childlike vocals with his sampler and keyboard. "There was no sense of purpose of being a band, it was just, 'Oh, hey, you're good fun. Let's make music together! Let's do more of it!' " Reid says. "After a while it was like, 'Hey! Let's see what other people think of this.' '' Opting to become a duo, they set their creations loose on the Internet and have never looked back since.
Nominated for high honors by both the Brit Awards and BBC Sound of 2013 poll, AlunaGeorge has been keeping busy this summer playing prestigious European festivals such as Glastonbury in Adidas Climacool 1 Grey
And then there were thousands: Their smallest gig was for just three people, an early showcase reserved for record executives and promoters. "Essentially it was us just playing in a room to some people sitting on a sofa, which is quite terrifying," Reid says. What was "deeply terrifying" was playing to a crowd of 80,000 in London's Adidas Boost White Red Blue
