"She felt, rightly or wrongly at that moment, she had been deceived by Det. Hall," the lawyer said. "And that was the context in which those comments were made."
One alleged victim who was interviewed by Hallett on three different occasions was "a lot more fragile than most," said Seguin, and getting him to talk was like "pulling teeth."
The inquiry briefly heard from Hall himself after Seguin's testimony wrapped up late Monday afternoon.
"I can tell you his words," said Seguin. "They were: 'Why can't she leave me alone?'"
Notes entered into evidence at the inquiry which is probing how institutions like the OPP and the Crown attorney's office have suggested Hallett blew up at the head of Project Truth, Det. Insp. Pat Hall, after Leduc's lawyers made their arguments.
Scharbach suggested Hallett had worked hard to win the trust of Leduc's three alleged victims and she was frustrated the case had ended as it did.

Seguin had been a member of Project Truth, the OPP's four year investigation into allegations prominent members of the Cornwall community had sexually abused children.

With the Jan. 30, 2009, deadline for the end of testimony on the horizon, commissioner Normand Glaude announced the inquiry would sit earlier over the next few days so that Hall's evidence would be finished by Friday.
By the time of the trial, he was tired of dealing with Hallett, Seguin said.
Hall had directed his officers, including Seguin, to turn over a memo to Leduc's lawyers that showed Hallett should have known about the conversation. In response, Hallett who has yet to testify at the inquiry allegedly vowed to "scratch out" Hall's eyes.

The York Regional Police never laid obstruction charges against Hallett.

CHARGES THROWN OUT
"Yes, I believe so," said Seguin.
The charges against Leduc were thrown out after Leduc's lawyers argued his right to a fair trial had been violated because the Crown hadn't disclosed they knew about the conversation.
Seguin had also told police that he'd had concerns with the number of times Hallett had interviewed witnesses.
